About Me:

Howdy! I'm Grif. My passion about conservation and citizen science started in 2017, when I learned about the passenger pigeon (Ectopistes migratorius). I wanted to help conservation efforts in any way I could, but without any funding or budget, I found it difficult to learn or do more. Enter community science!

I am currently pursuing a M.S. in Biology, with a focus in ecology and evolution. My research focuses on environmental modelling and biodiversity in grassland regions. I use community science tools within my research, in particular iNaturalist.

In my free time, I am an amateur radio operator (Extra Class), as well as playing saxophone, piano, and writing.

I hope you enjoy my website!
